Our craftspeople in the Rough Mill spend a lot of time sorting through the lumber to make sure the best pieces are used for the most important places, like table tops and drawer fronts.

In the process, we create what appears to be wasted material. But these small pieces of wood are valuable. The Stickley factory is heated in the winter months by wood we can't use for furniture. There's even enough left over for our employees to take home and burn in their wood stoves.
