This Year’s Collector Edition is Something More!

2025 is an important year for us: it marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of L. & J.G. Stickley! And it became clear that our annual Collector Edition for this year could not be business as usual. Instead of a single limited-edition piece, we’ve created the 125th Anniversary Collector Series Floral Tile Collection, a five-piece Mission-style capsule collection built around a ceramic tile motif.

A new take on tradition

The Stickley Design Team, led by Director of Design Marissa Brown, explored ways to celebrate the anniversary and were drawn to the idea of handcrafted ceramic art tiles. Associate Designer Joe Dunaske explained, “Arts and Crafts design has a rich history of using ceramic tiles. You see them as accents on furniture, on fireplace hearths, etc. In Gustav and Leopold Stickley’s time, pottery workshops like Grueby and Pewabic were popular sources, and today newer companies like Motawi Tileworks help carry on that tradition.”

The team set about designing five versatile pieces that can live throughout the home, and each features a carefully selected floral Arts and Crafts tile from Motawi. In a special twist, the tiles are removable and interchangeable, meaning customers can refresh pieces with their own 4 x 4-inch tiles whenever they like.

Fine Stickley craftsmanship

As always, these beautiful tables and bookcase rely on the time-honored construction techniques that have secured our place in history. Each is crafted of solid quartersawn American white oak (available in any Stickley oak finish) with mortise-and-tenon joinery, as well as frame-and-panel construction forming eye-catching inset squares. The Console’s side-hung, center-guided drawer features a recessed finger pull in place of hardware. The Bookcase conceals a hidden storage space with a removable velvet-lined tray behind its tile front, and the Tray Table lives up to its name as the entire top lifts off with copper handles.

Limited-edition first cuttings

Pre-order for all pieces in the Floral Tile Collection is now available, and you can learn more here about how to order yours. At the same time, members of our Collector’s Club have exclusive access to a very limited number of factory first cuttings that feature numbered commemorative plaques: only 125 are available for each piece in the collection, and the two plaqued plant stands are sold together as a set. Members who pre-order a plaqued first cutting will also receive an additional Motawi gift tile they can use in their piece as a free gift with purchase!
