It opens in the middle to accommodate two 18-inch leaves, taking on a new identity as it expands from an intimate 46-inch round top to an 82-inch long table with race track ends.

Form Over Function

I bought this table over a year ago so bear with me because my review is pretty comprehensive. I am a huge Stickley fan but this is A LOT of money to spend on a dining set and there are some things I wish I'd known before purchasing.

First and foremost, this table is stunning. I opted for the matching wood chairs with the leather seats instead of fabric. The finish on the walnut wood is beautiful and the set is truly a piece of art that complements my home.

Although the table is remarkably beautiful, it lacks in durability. I was surprised that simply setting silverware down on the table can cause small dents in the wood. I purchased this in part because walnut is supposed to be a durable wood, but scratches and dents are SO easy to make just from normal use.

The armchairs aren't built for large people so I'm glad I purchased two armchairs and two side chairs. Overall I'm disappointed with the quality of the leather on the chairs. The leather is already wearing after just 1 year of use. It's not something I expect at this price point.

The table comes with two matching leaves and can be extended. Six people can sit comfortably. I was very surprised at how much this table can extend so it's great for flexible spaces and entertaining.

I have the table in a dining area next to a large sliding glass door in my home. The sun unfortunately will lighten the wood over time and gradually change it's appearance. The side of the table facing the sunlight has caused it to lighten unevenly. Just something to note that I hadn't considered.

I'm not sure I would purchase this again, but it is definitely a major step up from anything in a big box store. With obsessive care, this table can be preserved to make years of good memories. My guests always comment how nice it is. Normal wear and tear is expected, but I just wish it was more durable. Especially the chairs. I would probably opt to buy chairs somewhere else.

This is a really lovely table and chairs that will last a lifetime, and the chairs are very comfortable. We are really pleased with our purchase!

Better products available at your local yard sale

Don’t trust Stickley! The table is not round and the leaves don’t fit properly. Stickley refuses to stand behind it, telling us to live with inferior quality despite superior pricing. Guess I’ll have an $11,000 bonfire. The only reason I gave 1 star was because 0 wasn’t an option.
