Mahal's traditional Persian design traces its roots to the period from 1526 to 1748 when Mughal emperors ruled India, an era marked by a renaissance in Indian art and literature. This pattern features intertwining leaves and tendrils against a cream field and is hand-knotted in India by master weavers using hand-spun, high-twist Ghazni wool.
