Our third 125th-anniversary commemorative piece reimagines a rare design by Ernest Batchelder, a leading name in the American Arts and Crafts movement. This version of his blanket chest replaces his original chestnut with quartersawn white oak and, in place of Batchelder's silkscreen technique, uses a variety of fine wood veneers to recreate its intricate floral design as a signature Stickley inlay. The interior is lined with protective cedar, and bronze lifts have been added to each end. Placed at the foot of a bed, the Daffodil Chest provides beautiful storage space for blankets, linens, and clothing.

Looking for a unique collectible? A limited number of First Cuttings of the Daffodil Chest feature a numbered 125th Anniversary commemorative plaque! To get a plaqued version, place your pre-order by February 15, 2026.

Decorative Transformation

Southern California decorative artist Ernest Batchelder was an influential Stickley contemporary best known for his tile designs. In our tribute to his original blanket chest, we’ve reinterpreted his silkscreen art as a classic Stickley-style inlay, with delicate veneers of cherry, celtis, maple, mahogany, and markore on rift oak.

Still Extraordinary After 125 Years

In 2025 we celebrate the staying power of an American icon. L. & J. G. Stickley was founded by brothers Leopold and John George Stickley, thrived for decades under Leopold, and was dramatically revived by the Audi family. Today it continues to produce exceptional furniture of the highest quality!
